In a season of disappointments for both the Milwaukee Brewers and relief pitcher Trevor Hoffman, Tuesday night may prove to be one of the final highlights to the 2010 season for both parties. The Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2.

Hoffman struggled earlier in the season, blowing five of his first ten save opportunities, before giving way to rookie pitcher John Axford. However, Hoffman, the all-time career saves leader in Major League Baseball history, has 2.63 ERA over his last 29 appearances.

The Brewers are currently 15 games behind the Cincinnati Reds in the National League Central Division standings, and trail Atlanta by 14 1/2 games in the National League Wild Card race.
