April 28, 2013 Updated Apr 28, 2013 at 8:52 PM CST

Los Angeles, CA (NNCNOW.com) --- Clayton Kershaw retired 18 consecutive batters and struck out 12 as the Los Angeles Dodgers ousted the Milwaukee Brewers 2-0 Sunday, thanks to two homers by Carl Crawford.

Kershaw had struggled early on in the season, failing to get through the sixth inning in each of his last two starts. But on Sunday afternoon, Kershaw went eight scoreless innings for the Dodgers.

Crawford added two solo home runs for LA including one on the first pitch of the game from Kyle Lohse to power the Dodgers over the Brewers.

The Brewers (12-11) return home to host Pittsburgh on Monday at 7:10 p.m.
