Milwaukee, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- For the first time in eight starts, Kyle Lohse pitched eight solid innings en route to a 9-1 Brewers win over the Phillies on Sunday afternoon at Miller Park.

Lohse gave up just one run on four hits while striking out six.

Milwaukee all-star Ryan Braun left the game in the third with a sore right thumb which continues to bother the left-fiedler.

Carlos Gomez hit a two-run homer on his own bobblehead day, and Scotter Gennett had a two-run triple for the Brewers.

Milwaukee (25-37) won the last three games of the series and will next travel to Miami to take on the Marlins on Monday at 6:10 p.m.
