London, England (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love scored 15 points as the United States men's basketball team beat Nigeria 156-73 in preliminary play on Thursday in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.
The 156 points are an all-time American record in the Olympic Games, as was the 83-point margin of victory and the 29 three-pointers made for the United States.
Carmelo Anthony led the team with 37 points in the contest, which now stands as another all-time American record in the Olympics.
The United States is now (3-0) in preliminary play and is next scheduled to play August 4 against Lithuania at 8:30 a.m. CT.
