Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to remove buildup of scar tissue, the team announced on Monday night.
Recovery from the procedure will take approximately four to six weeks, meaning Love will not play for Minnesota again this 2012-13 season.
Love has missed the past 47 games for the Timberwolves after breaking the third and fourth metacarpal in his right hand on Jan. 3.
That was the second time Love had injured his hand, with the first coming this past offseason. The first injury kept him out the first nine games of the Timberwolves' season.
Love appeared in 18 games this year for Minnesota, averaging 18.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per contest. His knee surgery will be performed later this week by Dr. David Altchek of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
