London, England (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The United States women's basketball team beat Australia 86-73 on Thursday to advance to the gold medal game in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.

Minnesota Lynx guard Maya Moore scored nine points and totaled three assists in the winning effort, while her Minnesota teammates Lindsay Whalen and Seimone Augustus had six and eight points respectively.

The Americans were led by the 14 points of both Tina Charles and Diana Taurasi, helping the team stay undefeated in the London Games.

The United States has won four consecutive gold medals in women's basketball, and the team will try to win a fifth straight on August 11 at 3:00 p.m. CT.

Augustus is the only of the Minnesota players to have Olympic experience before 2012, having won a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Games.
