The Texas Rangers were only two outs away from their first ever combined no-hitter on Monday night. In the top of the ninth inning, catcher Joe Mauer spoiled that party with a single to center field. However, the Rangers got the last laugh with a 4-0 shutout.
Twin starting pitcher Nick Blackburn took the loss despite a solid performance, allowing three runs in seven innings of work.
Game two of the series is a 7:05pm Tuesday night.
