St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Wild has acquired forward Mike Rupp from the New York Rangers in exchange for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri.

The 33-year-old Rupp comes to Minnesota in his 10th National Hockey League (NHL) season, having totaled 94 points and 765 penalty minutes in his career. A third round pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Rupp was part of the 2003 Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils.

Powe, 27, leaves the Wild after playing all 82 games in his first year with the club a season ago. He posted six goals and seven assists in that 2011-12 season, his fourth in the NHL.

Palmieri, 23, was acquired by Minnesota via trade in February 2012 and has since played just nine games in the NHL. In 40 games with Houston in this American Hockey League (AHL) this year, Palmieri has totaled 10 goals and 11 assists.
