Minnesota Native Bernard Out in Wrestling Qualification

London, England (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota native Ali Bernard was eliminated in the opening round on Thursday in the 158.5-pound freestyle wrestling competition at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.

Bernard was defeated by a 3-1 score by Jenny Fransson of Sweden, ending her second Olympic appearance with the United States wrestling team.

The New Ulm, Minn. native won a state championship in 2004, and she went on to win four collegiate national titles for the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada.
