Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore has been named the 2014 WNBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), the league officially announced on Thursday morning.

Moore finished the 2014 regular season averaging 23.9 points per game, the third-highest average in league history, while guiding Minnesota to an overall record of (25-9).

She also finished among the league leaders in several other offensive categories, including first in field goals made (295), second in free throws made (16), eighth in rebounding, (8.1 per game), and 20th in assists (3.4 per game).
