Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had "successful" knee surgery on Friday to repair a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee.
The team reports the surgery was completed by Dr. James Andrews and that Peterson is resting comfortably.
The star running back had 970 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns for the Vikings this year before the injury. He is expected to be back in time for the start of the 2012 regular season.
