London, England (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota Lynx guard Lindsay Whalen was solid off the bench on Saturday for the United States women's basketball team, helping the Americans to an 81-56 win over Croatia.

The Hutchinson, Minn. native scored nine points and added two assists for the United States, now (1-0) in qualification play at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.

Two other Lynx players are on the American roster, those being guard Maya Moore and forward Seimone Augustus. Neither played a large role in the offense on Saturday, with Moore totaling four points and Augustus just two.

The United States' next contest is July 30 against Angola, with that game set to start at 4:15 p.m. CT.
