NFL Draft Recap: Minnesota Vikings

(Northland's NewsCenter) --- The Minnesota Vikings made their biggest splash of the 2012 NFL Draft on day one, making two trades and two selections during the first round.

After all was said and done, the Vikings ended up with 10 picks in the draft, selecting four offensive players and five defensive players. The team's other pick was a kicker in round five with the 175th overall selection.

Minnesota finished with a (3-13) record in the 2011 season, finishing fourth in the NFC North division.

Below are listed all of the Vikings' picks in the 2012 NFL Draft, along with the round in which the pick was made.

ROUND 1: Matt Kalil (OT, USC)
ROUND 1: Harrison Smith (S, Notre Dame)
ROUND 3: Josh Robinson (CB, Florida)
ROUND 4: Jarius Wright (WR, Arkansas)
ROUND 4: Rhett Ellison (FB, USC)
ROUND 4: Greg Childs (WR, Arkansas)
ROUND 5: Robert Blanton (S, Notre Dame)
ROUND 5: Blair Walsh (K, Georgia)
