New York, NY (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The NHL office on Friday announced the cancellation of regular season games through November 1, continuing the lockout of its players due to an ongoing labor dispute between league owners and the NHL Players' Association.
A total of 135 regular season games are now canceled, but league officials are still publicly optimistic that an 82-game schedule can still happen in the 2012-13 season.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has said a full 82-game schedule is still possible if a new collective bargaining agreement is reached and games start on November 2.
