Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, making him the ninth head coach in franchise history, the team announced on Wednesday.

The 57-year-old will be introduced as the team's head coach on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Winter Park.

Zimmer, who has been with the Bengals the past six seasons, had a second interview with the Vikings on Tuesday and remained in Minnesota overnight. He helped to lead Cincinnati to the playoffs in four of the last five seasons.

Minnesota has been searching for a head coach ever since firing Leslie Frazier on Dec. 30, that after he had led the team to an overall record of (21-33-1) in three-plus seasons.
