Green Bay, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Green Bay Packers outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene has made the decision to step away from coaching and the NFL, head coach Mike McCarthy announced on Friday.

Greene noted his family as the reason he was leaving, indicating he wants to spend more time with his wife and kids.

“I am stepping away from the NFL at this time in order to spend more time with my wife, Tara, and our children, Gavin and Gabrielle,” Greene said. “I will miss coaching and will try to return after our kids move on to college if a team will have me."

Greene spent five seasons with the team (2009-13) and during that time, Green Bay racked up 204 sacks which ranked as fourth-best during that time.
