Green Bay, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga will have surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will miss the 2013 season, head coach Mike McCarthy announced on Wednesday.
Bulaga suffered the injury this past Saturday but sought a second medical opinion before opting to have the surgery, but it's ultimately a move with which McCarthy agrees.
“You see him walking down the hall, he doesn’t look like a man that’s getting ready to have knee surgery,” McCarthy said. “I think there was just some hope that it wasn’t as bad as the initial opinion, and you never ultimately know until you go in there, but all indications look that he needs to have the surgery.”
David Bakhtiari has been working thus far at the left tackle position with the first offensive unit in Bulaga's place.
