Green Bay, WI (NNCNOW.com) The Green Bay Packers opened up training camp on Friday morning to prepare for their first preseason game on Aug. 9 after falling just one game short of the Super Bowl last season.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers avoided a potential war of words with ex-Green Bay turned Viking wide receiver Greg Jennings.

"I've seen a lot and been around a lot, and learned a lot of lessons. I think one of the lessons you learn is you can't control everything, and you shouldn't worry too much about the things that are said outside the building. You worry about the opinions your teammates and how they feel about you."

Jennings criticized Rodgers leadership abilities earlier in the week.

The Packers will hit the field three straight days before taking Monday off. Sunday will be the first full padded practice of camp.Practice will run through Aug. 28.
