Green Bay, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Green Bay Packers vice president Jason Wied resigned on Friday, citing an addiction to an herbal remedy he had been using to treat sleep-related health issues.
Wied took an indefinite leave of absence from the team in November and entered a treatment center to help combat the addiction.
In a statement issued Friday, Wied said he had been dealing with sleep apnea and insomnia before starting on the herbal remedy.
A Green Bay native, Wied had been playing a major role for the franchise in their efforts to expand the historic Lambeau Field.
