Cleveland, OH (NNCNOW.com) --- Mike Plefrey went six strong innings for the Twins, and Trevor Plouffe hit a two-run home run as Minnesota stopped streaking Cleveland 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Pelfrey had his most effective outing of the season after giving up nine earned runs in his previous two starts. He gave up just one run and four hits while striking out seven.
Justin Morneau added an RBI with a bases-loaded single in the sixth, and Joe Mauer had an RBI double of his own for his 1,300 career hit.
Plouffe went long for his fourth homer of the season, knocking in Chris Parmelee from first. The win snapped the Indians six-game winning streak.
Minnesota (13-14) continues it's 10-game road trip on Monday when they travel to Boston to take on the Red Sox at 6:10 p.m.
