Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named the NBA's Western Conference player of the week, it was announced on Monday afternoon.
Love leads the NBA this season in averaging 29.7 points per game, and he ranks second with 14.7 rebounds per game as well as his 31 free throws made.
In helping Minnesota to a (3-0) start, Love has turned in three double-doubles to increase his total to 121 over his past 135 contests. He also extended his streak of consecutive games with an offensive rebound to 78, which is currently the longest streak in the NBA.
Love is the sixth Minnesota player to win Western Conference player of the week honors, with this marking the first time in his five-year career.
