Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has committed to play for the United States in the 2014 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup, it was announced by USA Basketball on Wednesday.
Love played with the Americans in the 2010 FIBA World Cup, winning a gold medal with his team in that tournament. He also played for the United States in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, which was another gold medal effort for the USA.
Missing much of the 2012-13 NBA season with hand and knee injuries, Love averaged 18.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per game with the Timberwolves in just 18 games this past season.
The 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup is scheduled to be held from Aug. 30 to Sept. 14 in Spain.
