Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota Timberwolves star forward Kevin Love has been suspended for two games by the NBA league office for stomping on Houston's Luis Scola.

Love will sit out the team's game against Sacramento on February 7 and against Memphis on February 8 following the incident against the Houston Rockets.

"I want to publicly apologize to Luis Scola and the Houston Rockets," Love said. "My intention is to never hurt another player on the basketball court. I’ve always had the utmost respect for the game of basketball and all of my opponents. I also apologize to my coaches, teammates and our fans for the consequences of my actions."

Love and the Timberwolves got word of the suspension from the league office on Monday morning.
