Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Timberwolves made the signing of restricted free agent center Nikola Pekovic official on Friday morning, that after the two sides reached a deal in principle earlier this week.

"With Pek, Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio, we've got three cornerstones of the franchise that all complement each other. Pek, Kevin and Ricky all have the ability to be in the top 5 in the league at their respective positions."
Pekovic, the 31st overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft, averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds this past season for the Timberwolves, with both those marks accounting for a new single-season high.
"I'm happy to be returning to Minnesota and the Timberwolves," Pekovic said. "I've enjoyed my time here and am looking forward to our team improving and getting into the playoffs."
Terms of the contract were not officially released, but Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported on Wednesday that say it's a five-year deal worth $60 million.
