Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio will be in uniform and is expected to play for the first time in the 2012-13 season tonight at the Target Center, the team announced on Saturday morning.
Rubio has been out recovering from surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and lateral collateral ligament (LCL) that he suffered on March 9, 2012 in a game against Los Angeles.
"I'm excited to get back on the floor with my teammates and play in front of the best fans in the NBA at Target Center," Rubio said in a statement. "After a long recovery, this is the first step in me getting back on the court and helping my teammates. Thank you to the fans for their support over the last nine months."
The Timberwolves play host Saturday night to the Dallas Mavericks, with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. at the Target Center.
