Twins, Brewers fall

In baseball, the Minnesota Twins fell to the Detroit Tigers 11-10 in 13 innings. Detroit's Brandon Inge drove in the winning run in the 13th inning for the Tigers victory. It was the second straight defeat for the Twins, in a game which lasted four hours, 19 minutes.

Danny Valencia hit two home runs, including a grand slam for the Twins. It was Valencia's first multi-homer game of his career. Minnesota now trails Tampa Bay by one game in the race for best record in the American League.

In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers were shutout by the Florida Marlins 4-0 at Miller Park. Chris Volstad tossed 6 2/3 shutout innings, while Mike Stanton hit his 21st homer for the Marlins.
