The Minnesota Twins defeated the Chicago White Sox 9-3 on Wednesday night. Joe Mauer hit a 3-run home run for the Twins, who now hold an eight game lead on the White Sox in the American League's Central Division. The Twins are on a four game winning streak, and look to complete a sweep over the White Sox in Chicago Thursday night.
In other action on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Brewers also earned a road victory. The Brewers needed ten innings to defeat the Houston Astros 8-6. Matt Gamel's first hit of the season, proved to be the difference, as he drove in Carlos Gomez on a ground-ruled double in the 10th inning. Gamel would also score a run to close out the scoring.
Milwaukee avoided getting swept with the victory, and begin a series Friday night in San Francisco.
