Atlanta, GA (NNCNOW.com) --- The struggles continued for Minnesota on Wednesday afternoon as Atlanta competed the three-game sweep with an 8-3 rout, making it eight straight losses for the Twins.

Minnesota hurler Vance Worley failed to make it to the fourth inning, surrendering eight runs and 10 hits in 3 2/3 innings. Immediately after the game, Worley was optioned to Triple-A Rochester.

The Twins scored an unearned run in the sixth and then both Aaron Hicks and pinch-hitter Oswaldo Arcia homered in the ninth.

This comes a day after Minnesota placed 3B Trevor Plouffe on the seven-day DL with a concussion.

Minnesota (18-25) travels to Detroit on Thursday to take on the Tigers at 6:08 p.m.
