Twins Send Willingham to 15-Day DL

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Twins have sent outfielder Josh Willingham to the 15-day disabled list with a knee injury, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.

An MRI on Tuesday morning revealed that Willingham has a medial meniscus tear and bone bruise in his left knee, that after he tweaked the leg in a June 28 game against Kansas City.

The 34-year-old Willingham is hitting .224 through 70 games this season for Minnesota, totaling 10 home runs and 37 runs batted in.

The Twins also announced on Tuesday that Aaron Hicks has been activated from the 15-day disabled list to take Willingham's place on the 25-man roster.
