Om Wednesday, the Minnesota Twins held on for a 4-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals. The win snapped Minnesota's five-game losing streak and avoided a sweep by the Royals.
Demon Young hit a home run in the seventh inning to break a 2-all tie. Young would drive in an insurance run in the ninth inning, on an RBI-single.
In other games, Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees both lost on Wednesday, the Twins moved to within one game behind Tampa Bay for the best record in the American League with four games remaining. The winner will earn home-field advantage in the AL-playoffs.
