Newark, NJ (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Former UMD defenseman Jason Garrison scored a goal Tuesday night as he and the Florida Panthers beat New Jersey 4-3 in the NHL playoffs.
It was the first career playoff goal for Garrison, who is playing his third season in the NHL with the Panthers.
The former Bulldog played in 77 games this regular season with Florida, scoring 16 goals and recording 17 assists.
Tuesday's win puts the Panthers up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series with the Devils, with the next game set for April 19.
Garrison played for UMD from 2005-2008, finishing his collegiate career with nine goals and 20 assists in 87 games played.
