Minneapolis, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is active and will start Sunday's game against Jacksonville, the team announced about 90 minutes prior to kickoff.
Peterson's status was in question coming into Sunday's game after he spent much of the preseason continuing his recovery from surgery last December to repair torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee.
Team officials did not specify on Sunday morning how Peterson would be used in the game, but it is expected that backup Toby Gerhart will be the starter against the Jaguars.
The game is set for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis, Minn., and it can be seen on live television in the Northland on the My 9 Sports Network.
