Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday but is expected back by the start of training camp, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.
“He had a little tension in his knee,” Minnesota head coach Leslie Fraizer said. “We just wanted to get it done now rather than run into a situation where we get to [training] camp and it continued to bother him.”
The 30-year-old Greenway led the Vikings with 148 tackles in the 2012 season, and he also added three sacks and four passes defended.
Greenway will miss the team's final offseason training activities, including a mandatory minicamp from June 18-20, but the team is hopeful he will be healthy for the start of training camp in late July.
