Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin tweeted on Saturday that he would be having minor surgery later in the day, but he did not include any details about the procedure.
"Having minor surgery today," Harvin tweeted, "keep me in your prayers please!"
As of 7:00 p.m. Saturday, the Vikings had not released any official statement involving the status of Harvin's health.
The playmaking wide receiver was places on injured reserve earlier this month after missing three games with an injured ankle he suffered Nov. 4 in a game at Seattle.
Harvin this year played in nine games for Minnesota and racked up 677 receiving yards and three touchdowns, 96 rushing yards and a touchdown, and one kickoff return for a touchdown.
The 2013 season will be the final year of Harvin's rookie contract with Minnesota, after which he would become a free agent unless he and the team agree on an extension beforehand
