Winter Park, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Vikings officially introduced Mike Zimmer as the ninth head coach in franchise history on Friday morning after the team announced his hiring on Wednesday morning.

Zimmer has 20 years of experience in the NFL including spending the last six seasons as the defensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals. This will be his first opportunity as a head coach.

"I've got a chip on my shoulder. I want to make sure that 31 other teams know that I'm here, and I'm ready to coach this football team."

“I just know that I’m pretty good at my job. I’m pretty good at what I do. And it’s kind of showing up by the players that have talked about me.”

In his first three days in Minnesota, Zimmer's referred to himself as a "fixer."

"Here’s what I do. I fix stuff. I’m going to go out, and I’m going to fix this. They all trust that I’m going to get it fixed. That’s kind of what my personality is.”
