Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will be out for approximately six weeks after having successful groin surgery, the team announced on Thursday afternoon.
"Adrian Peterson had surgery today with Dr. William Meyers at the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia, PA," the team's statement read. "Dr. Meyers was able to successfully repair Adrian’s adductor muscle while also doing a compartmental release. Adrian is expected to make a full recovery in approximately 6 weeks."
Peterson missed two games this past regular season partially due to the injury, finishing the year with 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games played.
