Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Vikings have placed wide receiver Percy Harvin on the injured reserve list, a move that ends the 2012 season for one of the team's best playmakers.
Harvin was originally hurt Nov. 4 during a game at Seattle, and he was afterwards diagnosed with a severely sprained ankle. He has missed three games with the injury and practiced only once, in a very limited capacity, during that span.
The versatile wide receiver for the Vikings finishes the year having played nine games. In that time, he racked up 677 receiving yards and three touchdowns, 96 rushing yards and a touchdown, and one kickoff return for a touchdown.
The 2013 season will be the final year of Harvin's rookie contract with Minnesota, after which he would become a free agent unless he and the team agree on an extension beforehand.
