Mankato, MN (NNCNOW.com) ---- This will mark the 49th straight year that the Minnesota Vikings have held training camp on the MSU-Mankato campus in Mankato, Minn., but this will be the first camp is under the direction of head coach Mike Zimmer.
The Vikings are coming off a season in which the team went just (5-10-1), but players reporting to camp on Thursday afternoon said good things lie ahead for Minnesota.
""I feel like we have some good pieces in place," running back Adrian Peterson said. "Some good coaches and good people as well."
"I think it's a different vibe than the past couple years," offensive lineman Matt Kalil said. "You know, everyone's excited about what's going on over here. We're still an under-the-radar team, but that's the way I like it."
The first training camp practice for Minnesota is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, with the team's first preseason game set for Aug. 8 against Oakland.
