Last season's leading receiver for the Minnesota Vikings had hip surgery on Monday, according to a report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
The report adds, Sidney Rice is expected to miss two months. The team's leading receiver elected to have surgery after months of treatment failed to sufficiently heal an injury that prevented him from practicing this preseason. He apparently suffered the injury Jan. 24 in the NFC championship game at New Orleans.
Rice had 83 catches for 1,312 yards and 8 touchdowns last year.
