Vikings' Zimmer Announces Coaching Staff

February 6, 2014 Updated Feb 6, 2014 at 9:12 PM CST

Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer officially announced his 17-person staff on Thursday, which included newly-added offensive coordinator Norv Turner and defensive coordinator George Edwards.

Mike Preiefer will remain the team's special teams coach amidst allegations by former Vikings punter Chris Kluwe that he made homophobic remarks.

The former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator, Zimmer, kept seven coaches from the staff of Leslie Frazier.

"I am very excited about the coaching staff that we put together,'' Zimmer said in a statement. "Rick Spielman and I spent a lot of time talking to numerous candidates to ensure that we found the right coaches for this organization. Building a team that consistently wins all starts with coaching."
