Vikings fall in Favre's debut

Just days after joining the the team this past week, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre made his 2010 debut on Sunday night.

The Vikings fell to the San Francisco 49ers 15-10, in a game which saw Favre complete his only pass attempt on the Vikings first play from scrimmage, a 13-yard completion to running back Adrian Peterson for a first down. Favre was sacked in the only other pass play during his series, which lasted only four plays.

All four quarterbacks played for Minnesota, as reserve quarterback Joe Webb led the team with 47 yards of passing and ran for a 48-yard touchdown at the two minute warning to pull the Vikings within 3 points. However, after a failed onside kick attempt, Minnesota got the ball back deep in their own territory with only 9 seconds remaining. Webb was sacked in the end zone for a safety to end the game.

The Vikings fell to (1-1) in the preseason, and will host Seattle on Saturday at the Metrodome.
