Detroit, MI (NNNCOW.com) --- The Twins scored three runs in the first inning, and P.J. Walters gave up just two runs as Minnesota snapped their 10-game skid beating Detroit 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Walters, who was called up from the minors before the start, lasted six innings and allowed eight hits for Minnesota.

Joe Mauer hit a solo home run and Justin Morneau and Chris Parmelee each added an RBI to give the Twins a 3-0 in the first.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire was ejected while arguing a call in the third inning.

Minnesota (19-27) and Detroit (27-20) meet on Sunday at 12:08 p.m. to wrap-up a four-game series.
