St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Ryan Suter scored with just over a minute left in regulation and the Minnesota Wild went on to beat the Boston Bruins in a shootout at the Xcel Energy Center on Tuesday night to secure the franchise's second straight trip to the NHL postseason.

Mikko Koivu scored the shootout's lone goal and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped all three Boston shooters, continuing his streak of earning a point in every one of his starts since joining Minnesota.

Jason Pominville scored two goals in the first period for Minnesota, marking his 28th and 29th goals of the year for the Wild.

The shootout win, coupled with Phoenix losing to Columbus, not only secures a playoff berth for Minnesota but ensures the Wild will be the seventh seed in the Western Conference.
