St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Wild has made qualifying offers to five of its players, with those players now not allowed to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason.

Forwards Justin Fontaine and Carson McMillan along with defensemen Tyler Cuma, Kyle Medvec, and Jared Spurgeon are the five players to get qualifying offers from Minnesota, meaning the Wild now has the option to match a player's contract or draft pick compensation should he choose to sign with another NHL team.

The team did not make qualifying offers to restricted free agent forwards Joel Broda and Benn Ferriero.
