St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The Minnesota Wild wrapped up its development camp on Saturday with a scrimmage in front of over 2,600 fans at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Grand Rapids senior Avery Peterson was among the Wild prospects to take part in the camp. The 18-year-old finished his junior campaign with 23 goals and 31 assists with the Thunderhawks.
While Peterson has yet to make a college commitment, he said the camp gave him a small taste of what's to come at the next level.
"It's great, you're forced to play at a higher level and higher speed so you develop quickly here," Peterson said. "I like it a lot. I think the skill level is just crazy. The guys can protect the puck so well down low they can make things happen out of nothing basically."
University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) recruit Carson Soucy also took part in the camp.
