St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Wild rookie defenseman Matt Dumba is one of 25 players to have been invited to Canada's National Junior Team selection camp ahead of the 2014 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship, it was announced on Monday.
Unless there are unexpected injuries to Minnesota's NHL team, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that the team is expected to loan him out for the selection camp and ensuing tournament.
Dumba has been invited to camp the past two years but did not make the final roster of 22, which this year must be finalized by Dec. 25.
The rookie defenseman has played in 13 games this season for the Wild and totaled one goal and one assist in that time, posting a rating of minus-5.
This year's IIHF World Junior Championship will be played in Malmö, Sweden from Dec. 26 until Jan. 5.
