St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Minnesota Wild forward Jason Pominville has been named the NHL's first star of the week, it was announced on Monday.
Pominville led the league last week with four goals and six points, and he is currently tied for third overall this season with 10 goals.
The 30-year-old has now scored in four straight games for Minnesota, his longest such streak since the 2008-09 season. His three game-winning goals this year lead the NHL, and he also leads the Wild with a plus-six rating.
Pominville is the fourth Minnesota player to garner NHL first star of the week honors and the first since goaltender Josh Harding did so in November 2011.
