With No CBA, NHL Cancels Remainder of Preseason

New York, NY (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The NHL office announced on Thursday the cancellation of the remainder of the preseason schedule, that due to the continued absence of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the league and the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA).

The league had previously canceled preseason games through September 30. Thursday marks the 12th day of the NHL lockout, with regular season games set to begin on October 11.

More talks are scheduled for Friday in New York, according to an ESPN report, but those talks are on secondary economic issues surrounding the labor dispute.
