Minneapolis, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- The New York Mets used a five-run first inning and added five more in the second to cruise by the Twins, 16-5 at a snowy Target Field.
Vance Worley lasted just one inning for Minnesota, giving up seven earned runs before being replaced. The Twins added two of their own runs in the bottom of the first to make it a three-run game, but that's as close as they got.
John Buck had a grand slam for the Mets and finished with four RBI. David Wright also knocked in four runs for New York.
The Twins look to rebound on Saturday, April 13 at 3:10 p.m. for game two of the weekend series against the Mets.
