St. Paul, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Head coach Mike Yeo and the Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension after Yeo led the team to the playoffs for the second time in three seasons; it was announced on Saturday.

For just the second time in franchise history, Minnesota advanced to the second round of the postseason after getting past Colorado in round one.

In his three years with the Wild, Yeo is 104-82-26 which ranks as 10th best in the NHL during that time.

"Our fan support has been amazing and it went to a new level during the playoffs this season. We are all motivated to reward them," said Yeo in a statement released on Saturday.

Yeo's contract was set to expire on June 30. The terms of the contract have not yet been released.

A press conference is set for Thursday, June 5.
